Visual artist Makoto Fujimura goes deep in exploring what it means to make art as a Christian and an artist. A great book that artist Brady Black (interviewed above) said gave him “permission to be an artist” in the church.

This book is singer/songwriter and author Andrew Peterson’s personal reflections on how artists thrive in community, and how community is nourished by artists.
Rembrandt is in the Wind by Russ Ramsey
A mixture of biographies and works of notable painters throughout history and how gospel truths can be witnessed in their works. This is a very accessible book into learning how to appreciate art as a believer.
